DEVELOPMENTALLY INFORMED – TRANSFORMATIONAL MEDITATION

Guided meditations are designed to help us find a state of consciousness—a place to orient to the world in a deeper and truer way than our egoic and dualistic view.

What if we were guided through our stages of consciousness, starting with infancy and moving up through all the major fulcrums of our growth, and into the most advanced ego stages known to us?

If we’re growing, we’re headed somewhere. This program will let you experience where first-hand. Along the way, we will also experience the places where our development has been cut off and not fully experienced.

This program will have once-monthly, hour-long LIVE questions and answers with Kim Barta, so you can further explore what’s happening in your practice and your life.

Here’s What You’ll Discover:

  • Each month you will receive a new developmentally-informed meditation to practice daily for the month
  • These meditations are specifically designed to enhance each developmental stage sequentially
  • This will allow us to ensure our egoic development is whole and healthy, since so many of us have wounding that occurred at certain developmental stages
  • Our fullest expression of each stage of development can now be experienced and expressed
  • These natural, shadow-healing meditations will work with our core and trailing developmental levels
  • With a much stronger sense of our egos, we’ll be primed to both experience spiritual states more easily, and allow our own egoic development to continue more easily

These meditations are designed to allow us to experience the healthiest versions of ourselves, through all the major fulcrums of our development — childhood, teenage years, and into adulthood.

When we get upset in life and become reactive, we often “crash back down” to earlier developmental levels. We’ve all experienced this.

We might turn from a mature adult into a reactive teenager, for instance, when we experience a certain kind of conflict. Or have a rage attack, an emotional implosion and attack ourselves, or simply freeze up when certain kinds of things happen to us.

Kim Barta’s Off the Map is designed to use meditation to address these “shadow crashes,” as he calls them. We can reformulate our early years from a healthy perspective, and understand better how and why we collapse in the ways that we do.

As we develop we gain wisdom, but often we leave behind vast amounts of unclaimed potential as we grow up and mature, which can both lead to “shadow crashes” and to unclaimed potential. Imagine capturing new wisdom and energy from our developmental past — by infusing it into our passionate now.

An Invitation to Embody Your Full Potential

Join Kim Barta as he takes us on a journey of healing and vitalizing all of our stages of consciousness — from long forgotten but still present perspectives we once inhabited.

  • Discover forgotten capabilities and unrealized passions
  • Re-invigorate your foundational consciousness
  • Experience the healing power of developmentally-informed meditations
  • Gain wisdom in understanding the difference between standard meditations and developmentally-informed meditations (and the benefits and limitations of each)
  • Gain an understanding of how shadows develop at certain developmental stages
  • See how “going back down” into earlier stages can free up emotional and spiritual energy
  • Learn how this practice can deepen and strengthen your meditation practices

Off the Map: Detailed Course Description

SMonth 1:
Abundance

  1. Discovery of abundance
  2. Emergence of wisdom
  3. Sensorial aliveness

In this month’s meditation, we’ll inhabit the fused perspective of the Impulsive Self (1.0) of the infant, where there is little differentiation from our world or from our senses. The world and our experience of it are one, and this is a sensorial world devoid of thinking and full of a radical presence that simply is.

Month 2:
Passion

  1. Free expression
  2. Spontaneous aliveness
  3. Just do it

Our Egocentric Self (1.5) is an alive expression of unrestrained passion (as anyone with a 2-year-old knows — “No!”). In this month’s section we will tap into our spontaneous, passionate, and very expressive self.

Month 3:
Community

  1. Introduction to the WE space
  2. Intimacy
  3. The power of communal imagination

Learning to be in community in a skillful way is the life of our Rule Oriented (2.0) selves. In this section we will explore the balance of our bliss isness of 1.0 and our vibrate passionate spontaneity of 1.5 and see how they blend to create a beautiful we-space with others.

Month 4:
Sacred Principles

  1. Principles to live by
  2. Principled practice
  3. Beliefs for a better life

Here we’ll explore mastering what works in our life and codifying it for use in the future. Our Conformist Self (2.5) allows us to take a deeper experiential dive into Principles In Action and how our life is revolutionized by this powerful dynamic.

Month 5:
Discovering the Unique self

  1. Deep self trust
  2. Courageous explorer
  3. Discovery of the I, I do not yet know

As we near the mid-way mark of our meditations, here we’ll explore our Expert Self (3.0), who sees life is filled with pre-designed patterns that we live by. This month, we’ll experience the powerful process of principle review, release, renewal and regeneration.

Month 6:
The Power of Meta-Sensing

  • Managing the mind
  • Comprehensive Empty and Full
  • Passion/Action/success

The power to create that which has never been created before becomes turbo charged as we enter the Achiever Self (3.5). In this month’s meditation, we learn about harnessing the power of the mind itself to create mastery of everything from the material to the mystical.

Month 7:
Deep We-Space

  1. Deep intimacy and vulnerability
  2. Deep self trust
  3. Courageous explorer
  4. Discovery of the I, I do not yet know

The Pluralist Self (4.0) is having a big moment in our collective culture, as everything from #metoo to BLM shakes up old ways. Our 4.0 selves take community to a deeper level. In this section we experience the collective “I”… the community within. We will explore how do we live a vibrant life not as an individual self, but as a communal self.

Month 8:
Designing the Dynamic self

  • The experience of the internal/external complex adaptive system.
  • Zooming in and zooming out
  • The unconditional loving witness 2

In our Strategist Self (4.5), we create and adapt simultaneously in the moment, with an understanding of the past and an eye for the future. In this month’s section we will explore how to design the dynamic self, a self that creates patterns that once set in motion in the correct way will lead to effortless natural evolution of our lives to a better future.

This self, while still rare in our culture, is becoming more prominent. It also includes vibrant adaptivity, managing the mind, comprehensive understanding of both “empty” and “full”, and a unique perspective on passion/action/success.

Month 9:
Seeing Samsara

  1. The illusion of the linguistic mind
  2. Emptiness and Fullness of the subtle self
  3. Floating

Our Construct-Aware Self (5.0) scans and looks in at our entire life and sees the manufactured storyline within which we live. In this month of practice, we will play with stepping out of the linguistic mind and glimpsing the world on the other side of Samsara.

Month 10:
Nesting

  • The nested worlds of the mind to infinity
  • Creative adaptability in the subtle world
  • Playing with mind itself.

Our Transpersonal Self (5.5) once again becomes active in the world, seeing how much of “realty” is in fact a construct of the mind, from language to personal ambition. A more profound relationship to the emptiness that underlies all of reality, and the fullness of life’s free potential are experienced here.

Month 11:
The cosmic collective

  1. The vastness of collective experience
  2. Comprehensive Empty and Full
  3. The Timeless Eternal Infinite Point

The Universal Self (6.0) is rare in the world, but there are more and more of us finding our way into this stage. Here, we find ourselves with a new and other dimensional type of intimacy. One that takes in the vastness of the cosmos in space and time and marries them with the timeless point. The ensuing intimacy of this grand macro/microcosm leads to a state of unimaginable bliss.

Month 12:
Designing systems of consciousness

  • The designer, the designed, the designing
  • The eternal deconstruction/reconstruction of consciousness
  • The ever evolving edge

In our final month of practice, we will inhabit one of the latest stages yet known to us, the Illuminated Self (6.5). Here, we get our “MetAware collective action” on! In this month’s meditation, we explore living the ever-evolving consciousness of the cosmos in the self — and self in the cosmos, a self of infinite, eternal, timeless locationless that deconstructs as soon as it appears and appears as soon as it self destructs, simultaneously and sequentially to drive the evolution of the whole of all consciousness.
